THE MAYOR OF ROCK & ROLL is a full length feature film about music, love, and failure set against the backdrop of the Boston rock scene.
The story: Simon Saint is a big fish in the small pond of the local rock scene who takes talented upstart Astrid Eliot under his wing. As their musical bond grows, Simon faces the ensuing tension with his non-musician girlfriend Samantha while Astrid’s past is thrown in her face in the form of her nationally successful ex-boyfriend Keith who returns to give her a glimpse of the big time. As they plan the biggest show of the year, Simon and Astrid are forced to face what they’re willing to sacrifice to make their musical dreams reality.
Shot entirely in its bars and rock venues, THE MAYOR OF ROCK & ROLL is a love letter to the Boston music scene. All the musicians in the film are played by real musicians singing songs they really wrote in front of real people who love and support Boston music. Our aim is to tell a funny, touching story about real people who happen to spend every waking moment being in love with making music.
